Our Autumn Holiday Kids Kayaking Camp is a fun and fully supervised 2-day program for children aged 8–16. Each day, kids build confidence, make new friends, and develop water safety and kayaking skills in a safe, supportive environment. With a 1:8 instructor-to-student ratio, every child — from complete beginners to advanced paddlers — is included and encouraged to try new adventures, all while having heaps of fun!
What's on each day?
Day 1
Join us at 9 am to meet your instructor and fellow paddlers. We'll start with a safety briefing before hitting the water. You'll learn kayaking skills appropriate to your experience level, hop off the water for morning tea and then consolidate your new skills by playing fun on the water games before lunch! After lunch its time to learn water safety and rescue skills. From learning to throw a rescue rope, to capsizing your craft and getting back on to saving your friends, you will learn skills that help keep you safe around water for a life time.
Day 2
Embark on an exciting expedition, using all the skills you learnt on day 1! We will go for a journey in our kayaks, taking in the beautiful scenery. As we paddle, we'll stop for morning tea at a picnic spot along the way before heading back to our main base for lunch. Your instructor will tell you all about the river/lake ecosystem and what species live there. After lunch activities include exciting races, the fun on the water ball game; canoe polo, and an ultimate team challenge. This is the perfect chance for you to demonstrate your skills and have fun with new friends. At the end of camp you will receive a personalised certificate and you will head home with awesome memories and fantastic kayaking skills.

Water bottle

Full change of clothes

Towel
-
Any personal medication needed

What should they wear?
-

What happens if they fall in?
Falling in during our camps whether accidentally or on purpose is a much-loved part of the adventure. If your child falls in, their instructor will be right next to them as always and they will be taught how to get back on to their kayak and if needed given the opportunity to change into their dry clothes.
Does it matter if my child has never kayaked before?
You don't need any experience at all to join our School Holiday Camps. It is completely fine if this is their first time getting in a kayak, we will support them to get the most out of their experience and cheer them on the whole way.
Do they have to be a great swimmer?
No all they need is basic swimming skills. They will be wearing life jackets at all times when on the water which keep them completely afloat should they fall in.
How often do you run the School Holiday Camps?
We run the School Holiday Camps every Spring, Summer and Autumn School Holidays. During the Winter school holidays we don't stop paddling we run a kid's kayaking full day expedition.
What is the normal age to attend the School Holiday Camps?
We have kids from 8 to 16 attend our camps. While we can't guarantee what the makeup of each camp will be we can promise that our instructors will make sure everyone is included and having a great time on the water.
