Kids Summer Lake Connewarre to Barwon Heads Expedition

Paddlers Expedition

We will be paddling approximately 12 km from Lake Connewarre to Barwon Heads, stopping for lunch along the way (please BYO lunch). 

You will learn about tides, paddling in open water, how to paddle as a team and how to navigate and lead sections.  This is a great opportunity for anyone who has previously done the Barwon River expedition and now wants more of a challenge but is suitable for any person aged 12 - 17 who has kayaked before.

Meeting Point: Lake Connewarre Picnic area (11:15 am)

Pick Up Point: Barwon Heads Bridge (5:15 pm)

Length: 6 hours

Who: Anyone aged 12 - 17 who has kayaking experience

Cost: $97

Craft: Single sit on top kayaks (sit ins available for anyone who has completed their flip out test ) Weight limit of all craft 130kg.

What you need to bring: Personal medication, spare warm jumper/jacket, lunch and snacks, full water bottle. 

What you need to wear: Clothing appropriate to the conditions, e.g. multiple layers to manage body temperature changes as we paddle. Sun hat, sun glasses insect repellant and sunscreen.
