About

Kids Action Packed Term 3 Series

Join AusPaddlers Geelong's Kids Kayaking Club, brought to you by Outside Adventures, for an exciting 5 weeks of on-water fun in Geelong and Surrounds! This 5 week kayaking club will be full of fun and adventure no matter your kids skill level.

We have two different kids classes depending on age and skill level to choose from:

Tuesdays: 4:15 - 5:45 pm, Intermediate and Advanced Kayakers, Ages 10 - 18 (please note you must have passed an assessment to join this group).

This group will run for 5 weeks starting August  20th. The first week will run at West Fyans Street Boat Ramp  and the following weeks will be held in Barwon Heads where we shall surf our kayaks on the waves, The Barwon River under the falls where we shall develop moving water skills and on Corio Bay to learn open water skills.

Thursday: 4:15 - 5:45 pm Beginners and Improvers Ages 8 - 16 (7 year olds who have previously attended our minis program are also welcome).

This group will run for 5 weeks starting August 22nd. The first and second week will run at West Fyans Street Boat Ramp where we will ensure all paddlers have the skills to tackle the more advanced areas we will paddle in weeks 3, 4 and 5. Then on to adventure we will paddle further up the Barwon River where we will learn the begginings of moving water skills, in Ocean Grove and on protected Corio Bay locations to practice our skills on tides and swell.

Each class runs from the start date to the end of term except for days when the conditions make it unsafe to paddle (please note that we do our best to give you advanced warning when we can't paddle, but due to the nature of weather sometimes this is not possible).

Outside Adventures provides all paddling equipment including canoes and kayaks, paddles, helmets and PFDs (life jackets) for use during each session.  Paddlers need to wear clothing appropriate to the weather conditions and bring a full change of clothes, any personal medication, and a water bottle.

All locations have places to park and all except Baums Weir and Buckley Falls Road have toilets and places to change.
