Our August Holidays Kids Kayaking Camp offers a fun, memorable experience for kids aged 8-16. From Monday 7 April to Wednesday 9 April, 9 am to 3pm, kids can join in the adventure and enjoy making new friends and learning a variety of awesome paddling skills. With a ratio of 1:8 instructor to students, we guarantee a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our participants. â€‹All young paddlers whether complete beginners or more experienced are welcome.

The Program

Monday

Join us at 9 am to meet your instructor and fellow paddlers. We'll start with a safety briefing before hitting the water. You'll learn kayaking skills appropriate to your experience level, hop off the water for morning tea and then consolidate your new skills by playing fun on the water games before lunch! After lunch its time to learn water safety and rescue skills. From learning to throw a rescue rope, to capsizing your craft and getting back on to saving your friends, you will learn skills that help keep you safe around water for a life time.

Tuesday

Embark on an exciting Expedition, using all the skills you learnt on day 1! We will paddle from Fyansford Common to Gun Dog Lane, taking in the beautiful scenery along the Barwon river. As we journey, we'll stop for morning tea and lunch, at picnic spots along the way. Your instructor will tell you all about the river ecosystem and what species live there.

Wednesday

You will enjoy a day filled with thrilling activities with breaks for morning tea and lunch. Activities include exciting races, the fun on the water ball game; canoe polo, and an ultimate team challenge. This is the perfect chance for you to demonstrate your skills and have fun with new friends. At the end of camp you will receive a personalised certificate and you will head home with awesome memories and fantastic kayaking skills.
